the above is my ant task and it works well with the attachment too...
i got the same problem with the mime types. i added pop3.jar, smtp.jar,
mail.jar, mailapi.jar and activation.jar.
once this is done i was able to send emails without any problem using my ant
task.

check for tools.jar in your %jdk_home%/lib... i had the same problem too...

im using a java standalone app to write another java source file and ant
build file when i try to execute the ant build file from the same
standalone java app i get error
"Content is not allowed in prolog."
