Install Java directly under C Drive, there should not be any spaces in
JAVA-HOME Path.. ( the space between Program Files).
Also set PATH variable till bin folder
Also set CLASSPATH variable till lib folder

Dear,
Just tried with Installed Java version, it worked fine.
The java version i used for ant compilation was not installed but was
jar-ed and brought to this machine, and pointed in classpath.

u can call the ant task inside the shelll script.
below is content of script file a.sh.. u need to just run script file
... as $a.sh
ant all --> all is a task in build.xml

Since websphere is not installed in unix machien.. we were getting the

There was similar kind of problem sometime back .. I am just pasting the
reply below just check if it works for you.
The only that comes in my mind is that you can try increasing java
heap space. When you start your application that calls ant try
specifying this
java -Xms256m
or try to alloca
