Thanks for the speedy reply.
I have gone through the registry and looked for the 8.3 filename support
features.
If i was to use 8.3 support for doing the transformations, how would this
be propogated to ant so the style task can run? If you never solved this
problem then i guess
Congrats to your work.
But you should join the work on generating the manual. The future is there.
First steps are on the /proposal/xdocs in the src distro. E.g. the
manual is generated.

For us, the problem did not occur on Windows XP, which our development
