It seems that network-manager-kde cannot handle wpa enterprise tkip peap
mschapv2 connections.
I've tryed all plausible options, but not even one is working, oppositely wicd
works fine

correction, after installing some packages the 32bit machines was
affected by the same problem, have to find the package who makes the
change

another box with nvidia & amd64 have the same problem
a third box with nvidia but i386 works fine

update:
report after karmic upgrade
skype solves the problem in the video call window
krdc, dragonplayer still affected
kaffeine wasn't affected in latest version, now it's affected too (same
transparent window when playing video)
so, I think it could be something wrong in qt4-nvidia driver

i've noticed the same problem with an older version of the nvidia driver
(version 173).
good news: updated virtualbox to 3.0.8 and the problem seems resolved,
no more transparent screen
