SOLUTION:
I have the same symptom as the original poster. ATSC cards don't work
in mplayer and mencoder because of this:

cvslog/2009-February/036544.html
if you define DVB_ATSC as 1 in dvbin.h and recompilevoila.

This does not seem to be a problem in the kernel. I recompiled MPlayer
myself and recording sound works. I have kernel 2.6.15-26-k7.

I upgraded from kernel 2.6.15-26.46 to 2.6.15-26.47 (both were dapper).
Sound was working fine, now it is broken. I also use the snd_via82xx
driver.
dmesg (after modprobe snd_via82xx):

I just got the new 2.6.15-27 kernel. It works fine, so thanks. I was not
compiling my own audio modules, BTW. Thanks for the quick response.

Public bug reported:
I cannot mount my USB camera.
Things it is not:
1) The camera works in "that other OS".
2) The cable is fine.
3) The camera has worked with other distros in the past.
4) It does not work in edgy, nor feisty.
5) The attached files are from Xubuntu, but the same happens on my

I followed the instructions shown in many places including:
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-455500.html
I merged it with the ppscsi-source code, so it has the debian directory
and archived it. All you have to do is replace the ppscsi-source
package with this tarball and voila. Hope
'm sorry I never attached that lspci. The other files I attached were

However, it doesn't seem to be a problem with the other hardware, just
with the camera.

I have upgraded from edgy to feisty and, after that, I just did an apt-

What I meant to say about the code being reused for all radeon drivers:
Just because there is a bug in one that keeps the ref count artificially

keeping it high should be fixed. This while loop is too drastic.

Tormod,
If I understand this, that while loop was put in because of possible
memory leaks, but in bo_allocate, the new bo is made part of a linked
list. radeon_bo_legacy_dtor destroys all the bo_legacys in the list. I
don't think it is possble to leak the memory.

I had the same problem using snd_cmipci. Flash would play for a minute

sound. Alternatively, mplayer would play for a minute or two and then
freeze. I could restart either application and have sound for a minute
or two.
