I'm not sure when it happened because I only reboot every 3 - 4 weeks
but it "looks" like a grub update added almost 15k lines to my menu.lst
file (looks like a bunch of duplicates). When the boot loader launched,
all I could see was blank screen. If

The SD card reader work around does not work for me. Camera is a Leica
Digilux 3 which is basically the same camera as the Panasonic DMC-L1.

For what it may be worth. I reinstalled Intrepid last night, keeping
home intact of course. This seems to have fixed the problems I was
having with my Leica and Panasonic cameras. Somehow the updates were
ineffective on my system until now. This might be a last resort for
Leica and Panasonic users

Happens to me as well in Hardy.
What is really happening, is that alacarte is not updating the screen
properly. You can add an item, but it won't show it. After I added a New
Seperator, all of a sudden all my newly added items magically appeared.
Since then, alacarte seems to behave again.

Trigger the issue:
Make sure the homefilesystem is full.
In nautilus, click "add bookmark" from the menu or press Ctrl-D. The bookmark
briefly appears in the bookmark sidebar, but then disappears again.

experimental code was released into the Ubuntu dist of Firefox. While
this would be expected with Feisty given it's experimental nature right

I saw your comment about installing stock firefox into opt directory so
I tried it. Worked. So I thought to myself what about installing stock
binaries into /usr/lib. Well did that for the hell of it (figured
mozilla wasn't working right anyway). Guess what ? It also worked!

saying that someone used some of the Firefox Alpha upstream code in the
Ubuntu release. Since when I attempted to install the Alpha as a

My USB-DVBT AF9005 stick works, channels scan OK, sound OK, but there is no
video picture, just black screen.
Also "Instant Record" works, TOTEM is able to show the recorded stream!

site, but esp youtube. I ran system monitor and watched yutube. System
crases with little change in ram useage (1.4 Gb of 4 used). npviewe
is this a drive error causing lockup? Or a filesystem error?

It's a OOo problem, not a keyboard - keymap - keypad one.
Since it works ok in all applications (at least, the few ones I tested)
but doesn't work in OOo, who should fix it is the OOo team.

well... when the bar isnt there not, I tried moving the mouse on all the 4
sides just in case but nothing appears..
but sometimes when the menubar is there (at the bottom) nothing happens, I mean
I click on it but looks like its halted...
(when I turn off the OS it says "panel not responding")
