I have used uswsusp instead of the hibernation integrated into the kernel in
the last two months daily.
It is very reliable. There is no error, it always recovers from hibernation.
This is just an FYI for other people with the same problem.

(through GVFS) is exhibiting the same behaviour as originally reported

Wings is working excellent until I try to interact with any other
window. If I do, it will manage to select that window, but any input
made, will end up being directed to Wings instead. If wings is then
turned off, the problem will still persist and if I attempt to select

Soundcard isn't recognized afte
Unfortunately, it worked only before Suspend. After that again Dummy output
only in Sound settings.
Reboot doesn't help. It's a strange problem.

dmesg:

The same error persists when booted from Ubuntu 18.04 USB live stick.
However, after power cycle prompted at Live Ubuntu shutdown, the sound card had
been correctly detected in my main Ubuntu 16.04.
