Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: cfs
I recently upgraded [in quick stages] from Dapper to Hardy. I've just
tried to mount my CFS share, and it fails with the error "RPC: Unable to
receive". This is with the latest version of CFS.
I see a reference here [http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/
My apologies; this looks like a dupe. The error message that it's
reported to you [cache.commit() etc.] was /not/ the one it displayed to
me, which has less-useful info.

Binary package hint: update-manager
I was upgrading from Gibbon to Heron. The only failure was gcc-3.4-doc,
which I have left over from way back when; just hadn't gotten around to
flushing it yet. I told it not to report the error, and then I got this
update-manager failure
Hmm; this was a while ago now, so I can't be absolutely sure, but I'm
pretty confident that there was no popup. It just hung without any
notification. /etc/exports rings a faint bell, but I did 3 dist-
upgrades in the space of 2 days, so that may not mean much [I've now
gone from 6.06 to 8.04].

I was trying to dist-upgrade to 7.10 via the update manager. I'd just
updated to 7.04 the previous day.
In the "installing the upgrades" phase, it stuck on handling CFS. I
don't know why, but cfs.postinst just seemed to sit there indefin

OK, this problem is elsewhere. I started trying to upgrade because I
was getting lockups on suspend as of having taken some updates--probably
the wrong reaction, if e.g. a newer kernel is the problem. While
debugging this upgrade problem, I also found lots of other ways to lock
