immediately after login but quickly degraded after opening a Java program
(namely IntelliJ IDEA).

Thanks, upgrading `libmutter-10-0` along with a couple of dependencies
did help.
There is weird caret blinking on switching from Terminal to IDEA (as if
the former briefly regains the focus between ultimately relinquish it),
but I can live with it.
