My wireless connection works after a cold boot then stops working after
a random amount of time. This problem is affecting me at least once a
day. The only fix I've found is to do a complete shutdown then a
subsequent cold boot. Strangely, simply restarting does not fix the

applet to show weather. The weather icon displays properly (shows sun,

trying to get the password from the keyring. In this post someone mentions

AMD64 users see this upon executing gizmod in Ibex:

Apparently this is due to python having renamed a function and boost not
catching

Unfortunately I don't have confirmation... no one has tried the
recompile. It's a fairly intensive compile requiring a couple hundred
megs of dev packages so understandable.
In the interim I've learned a bit more of what's going on. I guess the
default in Hardy was python 2.4, and in

I have tried both the workarounds from the above mentioned bugs (288281
and 283462)
with the SUSPEND_MODULES workaround, wifi always gets associated with
the AP but never gets an IP from DHCP server.
with the RESUME_MODULES workaround, things seem to work however
sometimes, can take several minut

I've had this problem probably 5 times now. I reburned the disk and
redownloaded the iso and the problem still occurs. The system finished
installing once, but didn't install the bootloader and I was incapable
of installing the bootloader from the disk.

After making one modification the install was a complete success.
Originally I was trying to have /dev/sda5 be my root partition and
/dev/sda6 be my /home partition. The home partition contained my user
folder from my 8.04.1 installation. I wondered if this was causing the
error, so I simply told u
