That might be an issue, however, Slashdot.org and other websites render
correctly with 3.0 on Windows and it also wasn't an issue with previous
version of Ubuntu.

Since I've had more testing, I figured out that it wasn't Firefox at
all, but actually the rending issues were caused by the 'radeon' driver

Why can't Ubuntu just put out a kernel flavor for ATI users that uses
SLAB instead of SLUB for the time being? Seems like a more productive
workaround than just saying, ATI has to fix it.

After further testing I narrowed it down to the fglrx module, but even
using the latest drivers (8.38.6) it gives me problems under 2.6.22 but
works flawlessly under 2.6.20.

Yeah, SLUB is the issue, I compiled a kernel with SLAB and it suspends
