Thanks for the quick response. I've attached the Xorg0.log, and here's the output of "sudo xresprobe nvidia": id: FPD1975W res: 1440x1440 1280x1024 1024x768 832x624 800x600 720x400 640x480 freq: 31-81 56-75 disptype: crt Strange, since my monitor is a Gateway 19 inch widescreen LCD. Thanks again

Actually I have gotten the issue resolved. Aparrently when using any of the nVidia drivers in 6.10 or higher Ubuntu (not sure which other distros or releases this will affect) you have to add this line to your xorg.conf Option "DynamicTwinView" "False" I do thank you greatly for your help however
