Sound/acpi confict still not fixed on my Toshiba p100-jr5, even in Hardy 8.04.
I still must disable acpi to enable sound. I would certainly be willing to test
via a live cd. I will start today.

I have never had sound working out of the box on Hardy. Even though
everyone else has had success with this issue, it is unconfirmed on the
p100-jr5.

Just looked at this thread, going to install gutsy tomorrow. I had feisty and i
had the same problem on my p100-jr5. ill let you know if it works, but thanks a
whole ton in the meantime.

I tried this, but I must have done something wrong or it doesn't work
for my computer. Or, do I have to follow step 6 and use "envy" before
the sound can work at all, or is it just to configure the already-
working sound? Either way, for now this is unconfirmed on the P100-JR5.
