In NetworkManager applet, Unchecked "Enable Networking" to disable the
networking as a measure to fix poor network connection. Then I got a
notification saying that Ubuntu-one crashed and asked to report a bug,
so I am here :-)

I did
1. Quit the UbuntuOne applet
2. rm -rf ~/.config/ubuntuone
3. Applications -> Internet -> Ubuntu One.
Everything works fine. Sync is perfect.

The workaround which worked for me to get it temporarly fixed is to
change the permission for plymouth as shown below. It may not be secure.
My system is Ubuntu 14.04.
# chmod -R 777 /lib/plymouth
