Strange behaviour:
I've downloaded
"linux-headers-2.6.34-999-generic_2.6.34-999.201004261005_i386.deb" and "
linux-image-2.6.34-999-generic_2.6.34-999.201004261005_i386.deb" and installed
them with "dpkg -i linux-*.deb". This failed for "linux-headers". So I only
installed "linux-image" a
I've tried the following:
First I removed /etc/X11/xorg.conf (my failsave)
In file "/etc/default/grub" I appended the line
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet
splash radeon.agpmode=X" where X = -1,1,2,4,8. Then a update-grub and a fresh
reboot after eac

The system is all factory hardware, no parts have been replaced (it is still
sealed).

Same for me...
Installing/Building process to /boot folder for the 3.5.0-27 kernel on my
machine took a extremly long time (compared to earlier issues).

A popup Startup message like HDA ULI M5461 not available, falling back to
default and a KDE message "Removed Sound Devices". In Sound Settings there is
no Hardware device.
Kernel modules and hardware seems OK. I can play soundfiles through alsas aplay
and amarok.
