I tested Ubuntu 8.10 and the problem is still there. Install is
impossible. With 8.04 I reuse the xorg.conf file from my 7.10
installation and it was OK. But now, this workaround doesn't work
anymore.
Please find included a zip file file containing: xorg.conf, Xorg.0.log,
lshw, lshw -short, lspci,

I have a Siemens Lifebook S6010 with an Intel 82830 Graphic Chipset.
With Ubuntu 8.10 the screen is a mess. Installtion with the Live CD is
impossible. The installation must be made with Alternate CD. With 8.04 I

My laptop : Siemens Lifebook 6010 with i830 chipset.
Installation of 7.10 or 8.04 (Alpha 5) is impossible. During the boot of
the live CD, X11 freeze and I can see only garbage on the screen.
Installation of these Ubuntu version is impossible.
It works fine with 7.04.
