I can confirm the bug with the ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV250
[Mobility FireGL 9000] (rev 02) - Graphics Card.
The Xorg.log for the first display says:
(II) RADEON(0): [dri] Visual configs initialized
Second one:
(EE) RADEON(0): [dri] DRIScreenInit failed. Disabling DRI.

existent in Intrepid (stable); Pidgin version 2.5.30-ubuntu2.
I increased the font size of Ubuntu under "System > Preferences > Appearance -
Fonts" from size 10 up to font size

If you use the zoom feature of Firefox to zoom into web pages and you also zoom
into the pictures, they become pixelated.

Thinkpad T40, same audio hardware and configuration, works fine on hardy (fresh
installed), intrepid (upgraded) and jaundy (upgraded).
could also be a acpi-button misconfiguration...
