I had the same problem, when i was in feisty, I recently moved my laptop
to gutsy and the issue as far as i can see is gone, but i don't
recommend gutsy as it has bugs and may have more different issues.
But for feisty what i did was:

Ok three days of no sleep but I got it to work, in the new Kernel.
with this option but taking out the ata_piix from the original fix as
this throws everything off. Bellow is the temp fix.

I can confirm same bug, I have a toshiba qosmio g25 with 2 sata drives on it,
While I tried to install 6.10 which did find the HD's with no problem, i ran
into a grub error where after install reboot, grub was poining to /dev/hda1
while it should /dev/sda1, a manual change before boot was all

The funny thing is that a 6.10 can find and install but for some reason
it assigns the drives as /dev/hda1 instead of /dev/sda1 but is a quick
fix in grub menu. I tried to update to feisty once 6.10 loaded but then
after install and reboot it just wont load.
Let me know if you need other reports.
Just wanted to say, I get the same issue with two sata drives, the
daily and any fisty cd wont load. edgy is no problem.

I actually figured out how to duplicate this bug.
If I am in Evolution and exit while on in any of my personal folder,
then every time i lunch evolution i get this error, but if i am quick
enough and click on inbox then the program does not crash. I hope this
makes sense. I will to the valgrind

Martin, There was a update to apport-gtk over this weekend and its still
give the same errror. It happens every time I boot into Feisty. I don't
get any other crash report or anyother crash at all. This just comes up
before I run any program. If you have an Idea let me know but here is
the same a

Since apport went to .37 yesturday I can reproduce this bug. I checked
everything. I went to that folder and there were no other reports. If I get
