Binary package hint: rhythmbox
I am using Compaq 510 laptop with Ubuntu 9.04. When I play any mp3 file
(I have downloaded required plug ins) no sound is heard but file is
being played in Rhythmbox. How to fix this problem?

Well the problem has been solved. I was using Logitech USB speakers. When I
chose output as 'analog stereo output' instead of 'digital stereo output',
sound output was OK.
