I am having a similar problem to this. Whenever I insert any CD or DVD,
it is not recognised by the system. If I reboot the system (with the
disc in the drive), then the disc is mounted when I log back in.

Just had the same crash again (searching launchpad for 'similar' bugs

I can confirm this problem in Edgy. This was the same in KDE with
knetworkmanager until updating at the end of last week. It works fine
from a fresh install (both KDE and Gnome) but running aptitude (or apt-
get) upgrade (or dist-upgrade) means it will not work on next boot.

I have this exact same problem. The only way I can get Firefox to start
now is in safe-mode from the command line, and I have removed the Google
Browser Sync add-on.
aptitude reinstall firefox does not help either
Please let me know if I can get any more info to help trace the problem.
