USB transfers great (12-15 Mb/s) to a USB 2 stick, reads were 12-17 Mb/s
After a couple updates I noticed the transfer rates dropping (3-6 Mb/s;
subsequently now the transfer rates are slowing down to 1.

The transfers of a 876 meg file are now taking 23 min.
the only things I can think of to do is back track.
I have all the updates in the /var/cache/apt/archives/ folder can I copy
that to an alternat

(encrypted) swap. If I hit escape for the shell and run "mount
/var/tmp" and then exit the shell, it succeeds (including mounting the

Unlike the previous poster, I am not aware of any sudden powercycles. I
simply attempted to run a docker container. The docker command and

I followed the hint in /etc/apparmor.d/tunables/home.d/ubuntu and ran
root@ubuntu:~# sudo dpkg-reconfigure apparmor
In the window that popped up, I added "/home/" (which is the location of
my home directories) and clicked OK.
This solved the problem

When building from source dpkg-buildpackage very kindly tells you what
build-dep packages are not installed. Usually, I just want install all
these packages. However this list, because of the version requirements,
cannot be copied and pasted with "apt install" in front. There
FreeIPA fixed this issue in https://pagure.io/freeipa/issue/7685. Will
this be back-ported to 18.04 because FreeIPA doesn't work without it.

Thanks Lyubomir, this is a good workaround. I installed the user themes
extension with 'apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions', then enabled it
in gnome tweaks and set the shell theme to yaru-dark. After a few gnome
restarts, things look great.

Correction: After the initial panic, it will boot to the gui but as soon
as I touch the mouse it panics again. I can boot into nonnetworked
recovery mode. I will try to black list modules. Writing from my

I installed the kernel and clicked suspend on the taskbar at the top.
Then did "journalctl" and shift+g.

Maybe it's a little better, but not there yet. I have two monitors
attached. I tried running Creator and Assistant, then running my script
which uses xrandr to remove and re-add the displays. I tried this first
in a Plasma session. When the screens came back to life I had only a
black screen (k
I'd be willing to try the got feature and apply to locate the fix. Can
you provide more information on how to accomplish that? Such as the URL
to bisect from, a list of potential revisions to try, etc? I've used got
to clone, branch, commit, and sync but that's it. I'd love to track this

Odd I did an update, no packages from other repos, just an update from the
preexisting repos and the issue is resolved. I didn't see an update for the
xorg drivers either. It's just working... weird..
