I have since switched over to the fglrx driver, so my Xorg log won't
help. Nor with my xorg.conf (it was a stock Ubuntu one). And a
screenshot is kind of impossible since it can't exactly capture
overlays. And I don't have a camera that could capture a monitor at that
level of accuracy.

Whatever... You've got two separate attachments that resolve the issue.
I'm sorry you don't have what you want. Maybe you should dumb down the

static ip it won't connect to the network and when i type ifconfig it
says it has a inet6 address so i think when we type an ipaddress it

Just installed it manually. I removed the nvidia driver, installed the
new xserver-xorg-video-nv package, and rebooted. I got a ncurses screen
with options to do a normal boot, fix xconfig, and go to a root shell. I
chose fix xconfig and it saved the new settings to xorg.conf. It then
booted into t

I have this same problem on hardy 8.04. there is a really easy work
around. all you have to do is go in to power management and change the
setting from "blank screen" to "do nothing",or "suspend" or "hibernate".
on my computer even if you set it to do nothing it still turns off and i
don't get this
the server is set to allow everyone with no password. i can copy the
folder with my same computer using gutsy. Using hardy I can copy the
individual files inside the folder that i can't copy so i don't think
it's the server settings. I guess it must be a samba bug.

nautilus is unable to copy f
it may be gvfs because i have the same problem using ftp in nautilus to
that same server, But filezilla in hardy can do the same thing just
fine.i do get a slightly different error using nautilus ftp, so i
attached the error i get.

can confirm this I think it's fixed.

HPLIP on Hardy Ubuntu/Kubuntu doesn't recognize the preconfigured
printer. Xsane/Kooka is also affected. Scanner apps have to be run as
root to work. Temporarily solved by adding user to lp and scanner
groups. Confirmed with other printer brands/models on Ubuntu forums.

I tried the Ubuntu and Kubuntu live CD's on my daughter's Dell desktop
and they both loaded the "nv" driver and set the res correctly to
1280x1024. She has a Nvidia 7300 LE. It may just be a problem with my
card not being detected correctly. Is there a new way to set xorg
options since dpkg tools a
