Suzan's fix worked. But the sound didn't work when I first log in. I had
to go to 'open volume control' and un-mute the PCM. No big deal, I had
to do this before on the betas for no apparent reason but I thought it

ubuntu community. Ubuntu releases are shipped with bugs already
solved/fixed and wait until the next release. Sometimes they don't even

A similar situation here but nowhere near 30 seconds, a couple of
seconds like 6 and after that the boot process IS NOT faster than
the previous iteration of ubuntu and it's kind of a mess IMHO (the first
apple-like boot screen and then the windows-like one... is redundant and

I have noticed that after I suspend my laptop and wake it up again the
samba shares aren't available, sometimes they may be available after an
unespecific long time but most times, when I really need to access the
shares, I just restart the laptop and the shares are then made
It's funny that I never thought of that but with Nautilus it seems that
the shares are made available almost inmediately. While at first they
aren't there I just hit the 'network' directory again and they have
appeared. Maybe it is because I have waken the laptop too quickly after
suspending it so
Ok, spoke to soon, it is reproducible on nautilus. Let me know what else
