I too have this error but it has only started from Friday 26th

Recent updates have stopped compiz starting not sure whether its gdm,
compiz,kernal, xorg.ati xorg.radeon or something else?
A clean install of alpha2 is ok and has been Ok until this Friday 03/07/2009

As the originator of this bug I can confirm the info in lucid 10.04
released today is still incorrect as far as I am concerned. Please

This bug is still effecting me, but at a guess the culprit is the new revised

This is still a problem even after new kernel updates;
as many other people have said this crash stops unity starting!
For your info compiz wont start in the classic desktop environment
either so it probably is not a unity bug.

This happens if I use Alt+F2 gksu nautilus also have installed nautilus-gksu
and that does not appear as a right click option.
Therefore there is now no way to use nautilus as root.

This appears to be due to missing credentials in passwords and encryption
looking on laptop the login has credentials.
On this desktop apart for the log in folder there are no credentials.
I guess this explains the ubuntuone error message.
