supplied by realtek rtl819Xe The network manager connected every time
without the need to delete the connection details like password etc.

Wireless fails
I got the wireless working on My Fujitsu Li1718 using seth's
linux-image-2.6.38-8-generic_2.6.38-8.42~lp710738v201104200928_i386. But today
update manager upgraded the kernel to
linux-image-2.6.38-8-generic_2.6.38-8.42_i386 and knocked the wireless out
again so had to re-install seth's kernel

Dave PPA solution worked for me too in 10.10 maverick meerkat.
I stumbled on this bug fix after lots of searching. I kept my installation up
to date with the latest updates so when will there be a proper fix so others
don't get stuck with this problem.

Sorry but I am now using 10.04 Lucid Lynx on this platform so couldn't
now replicate what you need without a total re-install of my wifes
laptop which I'm not sure she would appreciate. Next time I upgrade it
(probably 10.10 Maverick Meerkat) I will install Jaunty first to get
this info for you.
Lucid is great no problems except the usual hotkeys to enable the network
interface.
