I have the some problem in about 2 months.
My system is UbuntuStudio 8.04 and it is full upgraded.
I didnt have the problem when I used kde applications on gnome (kaffeine,
konqueror, k3b, Amarok etc.
And I didnt have this problem when I created a new user at the same laptop or
