The easy solution for *this* dummy with an RT2500 based card, was to
remove Network-Manager and install Wicd. See
http://wicd.sourceforge.net. You can ad the repository or just download
the latest deb file...

Ok, here's an update: I reported earlier that this behaviour had somehow
vanished from my system...
Well, it's back again! Trying to fix an issue with hibernation, I found
out that my install was not using swap at all. After restoring system
swapping again, the issue with system lock-up/black scre
Sadly, /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf > AlwaysRestartServer=true doesn't fix it
on my machine (feisty 64bit/radeon xpress 200m)...

just upgraded to lucid and it is still the same ... but i notice it is
just THIS archive! other archives with .sql files report the size just
fine. and when unpacking this particular .sql file and repacking it
results in a new archive that reports the size fine too.

Trying the copy a CD with Brasero in Ubuntu 10.04, it fails due to the
fact that cdrdao in the repository is "too old" (as Brasero reports on
it's Plugins dialog) ...

events from tip nor buttons... Out of the box it appears to use the
evdev driver.

Some observations on the matter:
I have noticed some irregularities with auto-connect. After a fresh
boot, most of the times it does not work but sometimes it does. However,
after logout and login, U1 auto-connect works just fine.
I tried auto-starting U1 with a delay by editing the auto-start en
mohrol, you are saying you installed cdda2wav first and then installed
icedax? and then it just works? the icedax package conflicts with
cdda2wav so installing icedax will force cdda2wav to be removed again...
at least on my system. or am i misunderstanding you here?
