I downloaded Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 i386 BETA2. I failed to boot this
live CD because my notebook has older mobile CPU (i686, 1.6GHz) without
PAE support. Live CD with new Ubuntu requires CPU with PAE support and
boot fails several seconds after start. :-( I cannot retest this bug
without full insta
As a workaround, I can recommend LiveCD Parted Magic, distribution
focused to disk manipulation. Gparted is the main application on the
disk; it is ready to go distribution, it is easier to run gparted from
PartedMagic LiveCD than to install some DEB packages to "broken" Ubuntu.
