I have exactly the same issue with Lucid Lynx UNE on 1005HA. Very
annoying. This and the functions keys fucntions not working. Thinking of
goign back to 9.10

Same problem, for http and https, after upgrade from kubuntu 10.04 to
10.10. Firefox is default browser in System settings and also in
thunderbird in network.protocol-handler.app.http and network.protocol-
handler.app.https. I don't know how to fix it.

sudo update-alternatives --verbose --config x-www-browser
and choose firefox
