No the update was for ubuntu 8.10. I'm on Ubuntu Hardy 8.04. There is no

Hi!
Adding the lines from the patch to /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/laptop-tools, but
that's not working. On reboot the script overwrites the settings, and must
unplug and plug in the power for the laptop mode to be enabled. Is it something
else that i'm missing on this?

I'm having exactly the same problem fsck stalling at 70% and then
finishes after a very long time. I've upgraded from karmic and use the
nvidia closed driver not the nouveau one. The process eates my CPU and
it's very disturbing.

The title explain it all. I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, stock with Gedit
3.28.1. If I set max-recents with dconf-editor to over 9 (tested that)
the open file dialog did not open. I wanted the max-recents to be 20 but
that wasn't working with the file open dialog, only up to 9.
A week ago I upgraded to a new grub2 on Ubuntu 20.04 and thought it was
fixed. It wasn't. Every now and then grub menu is showing on boot which
it shouldn.t. Why? My /etc/default/grub is this:

libopencl1-304-update' installed. Trying to upgrade the wine1.7 from the
Ubuntu Wine PPA uninstalls the Wine-1.7 packages. When i trying to
reinstall Wine-1.7 it removes the 'nvidia-libopencl1-304-update' package
and installs 'oc

that i uninstall nvidia-libopencl1-304-updates and i don't want that. I
want wine to install without changing anything. As before. Isn't that

mouse have the same number, number 6 (middle click and roller tilt
left). But number 2 which should be the middle button isn't there, I can
remap button 6 to button 2 for middle click to work but then the 'real'

Just bought a Logitech M705 in a combo with a K520 keyboard. In Ubuntu
16.04 the middle button is not activated and not working. I've a stock
Ubuntu 16.04 with all recent updates. I'm using Unity.

I have the same behaviour also without apt-xapian-index installed,
mostly up to four duplicates but even eight occur (Ubuntu 16.04). But
it's only in the origin-section. All the others behave normally.
Synaptic is working ok for the rest, installing packages etc.

has switched server from Courier to Dovecot (which is better (he told)

freeze the machine which 295.40 did, but Unity3D is slow and the

Yes this maybe related. I don't know. But with regard to some problem
with "clean unmounting" some times ago in network-manager. The last
update of network-manager could be something. It's rather disturbing
anyhow. Could lead to data corruption at time too.

again now, AARGH. This driver is not usable, it can be stable for a long

GRUB_RECORDFAIL_TIMEOUT=1 or 0 to /etc/default/grub will fix it. Every
now and then (not always) grub menu shows up when booting. Which it

5.11.0-27.29~20.04.1-generic (same as above?).
The failing lines are at two places in the log. Boot is very quick
though but it is annoying seeing the red lines.
