I just upgraded to Hardy, and the problem mostly disappeared. That is to
say, I used to get a bunch of errors (8 or 9) but now I only get a
single error. The sound still doesn't work.

Yeah, same problem for me. The downloaded version runs perfectly, but
the version I got from Synaptic runs painfully slow, and doesn't even
play many of the tracks correctly.
Any chance the version in the package manager can be updated? This is a
great game, and "just install it from the website"

I've had this bug too, since upgrading to Oneiric. I also get this bug
on a clean install of Oneiric.
Not only does it happen in Gimp, but if I drag the stylus on the desktop
as well -- to select files on the desktop for example -- it jumps to the
corner and selects all of the items. Likewise, if
I get this same error in both fglrx and fglrx-updates...

desktop? Try moving a window with your wacom stylus. When you let go of
the window, does it jump across the screen?

In theory, you might be able to downgrade them using Synaptic and the
"force version" option, but there's a very strong possibility that would
cause everything to stop working altogether.
But we've already got 20 people on this bug... we should really try to
get someone assigned to this if possibl
