I'm running Ubuntu Karmic. I use caps lock to toggle between US and Thai
keyboard layouts. Sometimes it would bizarrely change so that anything
I typed in English was in capitals...with obviously no way to switch

Same problem: Acert TravelMate 4720. Also wireless automatically comes

It all sounds very positive. For those of us that don't want to get
their fingers dirty playing around with different kernel versions, there
will be a lot of satisfaction when this fix finds itself into the
official repos!

Public bug reported:
I just did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04, Precise Pangolin.

I have been having this problem since I bought a new laptop. Switching

fix. If it's there but I missed it, please point it out.
I've been using Precise since it was released and have been hoping that
this bug would be fixed through an update. No luck. I now am actively

I'm a photographer and would really like this to work! I can't be

I have tried this in both 32- and 64-bit Natty. Not working.
Is there anything I can do/provide to help this get fixed?

It doesn't work for me either.
If I typed xkill then enter in a terminal, it works.
If I type alt+f2 xkill enter nothing happens. Clicking doesn't help.

and ran powertop with no apps running. It was significantly better than
in Ubuntu 10.10. It was actually really good. The red bar in powertop

My two cents is that I was waiting for Ubuntu Natty for a newer kernel
and therefore better performance, but I appear to have more wakeups and
less battery life than before.
