my dev-pc @ work, so I need some kind of stability. I have built my own
2.6.28.2 kernel which seems stable (atleast for 3 days). Hibernation
also work fine.
I will consider trying to backport (if neccessary) the jaunty kernel
I confirm that the current kernel/driver combo behaves like Kristian
state (re-insertable). Although I only have to rmmod/modprobe approx
once a week. Still newest Intrepid for me too.

ThinkPad X201). Rolling back the libreoffice lot of packages to

After much effort and searching it turns out the video cable, not the
projector, was the source for the problem. (Groan).
Windows XP only manages 800×600 with that cable so I don’t think it’s a Ubuntu
bug that I can only achieve 1024×768.

I confirm this on an HP Compaq nc6000 laptop, Ubuntu 10.04 i386, fresh install,
both as installed and after updates.
My rate of "bad boots" is roughly 50% (based on roughly 20 restarts).
I installed Maverick alpha3 as a dual-boot. After 20 restarts I cannot
reproduce the problem under Maverick.
