As a side note, docker-compose should NOT require golang-github-docker-
docker-credential-helpers, so at least it can be uninstalled without
uninstalling docker-compose

The whole idea that avoiding deb packaging fixes the problem is a
serious problem. The culture of docker (containers, pip, snap, etc)
seems to encourage abandoning sane packaging because it's too difficult,
apparently.
