Hi! I have some symptoms that may come from the same problem.
I work with intrepid ibex on the Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo A 1640 (SIS 760
chipset) and sometimes i can't scroll normally (is it like a refreshing
problem?) when i read text on gedit or when i use firefox.This is terribly
boring and hard

Ok, here is the steps I did
Launch Totem,
Click + to add a song
(I' not sure but I think there was no music anymore when I did the next step)
Click on the "Edit" tab (=>"Edition" in Ubuntu-fr)
Click on "Add-on" (=>"Greffons" in Ubuntu-fr)
Click to select Jamendo (or another) add-on
Click "Close"
No problem anymore

While the latest kernels do at least work in some form they aren't quite
right.
The sensitivity doesn't respond to the GUI settings. Also after some
time the touchpad stops responding. Sometimes it recovers others it
does not.

the newer ASUS machines.
The issue is the shown here with some reasonably deep investigation. Is
