I have (had) a 7.10 bridge with NICs eth2/eth3 (no others).
After do-release-upgrade to 8.04 the bridge no longer functions.
I speculate (I cannot prove this) that the upgrade took the NICs as
eth0/eth1 - so the system was in an inconsist

I expected virtualbox to start. It doesn't.
Attempt at apt-get remove followed by apt-get install makes no
difference

"Workaround":
Download and install the 2.1.3-3 builds for debian sid from
http://packages.debian.org/glabels
You need glabels_2.1.3-3-x and glabels-data_2.1.3-3-x
Then open a shell and run
sudo dpkg -i glabels_2.1.3-3_amd64.deb glabels-data_2.1.3-3_all.deb

It's sorted. I suspect it was clamtk playing with mime associations:
This MAY be a real bug.
I fixed it by uninstalling clamtk, then
sudo dpkg-reconfigure shared-mime-info
