Same here on Lubuntu 14.04 : on a new install chkrootkit reports Warning:
/sbin/init INFECTED but then there's no evidence of this with repeated passes
of unhide and rkhunter.
Apparently,also running chkrootkit -x and chkrootkit -x does not report the
infection,as far as I can see.

This fix works perfectly in Mint 13 64 bit Mate edition,I can also set
custom keyboard shortcuts in Compiz preferences to see windows from all
workspaces,no issues-just a note,in my case logging in again via Mint's
"new login" didn't do the trick,a full reboot was needed to have things
working.

It works for me too:now cube is back,I just followed the instructions,dropped
libcube.so in ~/.compiz-1/plugins,logged out and then in again,and it
works-with just the slightest hint of flicker maybe,but it could be my ATI card
as well,or the AMD proprietary driver,who knows.

Here's another strange fact:I've also experimented with a Grub live cd
(Super grub 2disk) and a Grub recovery cd made with grub-mkrescue,they
both have troubles finding the partitions on the disk.
There are three in total:
/boot partition
/root partition
/swap partition
all of them are primary.
I can't believe that anyone may chalk this up to a supposedly "incorrect
setup":as many others have reported,I've just done a clean install
(Lubuntu Trusty) from CD to a new hard drive,the installation process
finished normally and then the system could not be booted,period.

Bug still existent in Linux Mint 13 and Mint Debian,gThumb can open and
display CR2 files but no thumbnails are visible (this actually applies
not only to CR2 Canon raw image files but to also to other (possibly
all ?) comparable image formats from other camera makers.
