I've tried to reproduce the issue: I've opened the start menu, then I've
passed the mouse cursor over the Kde icons menu, opening the various sub

Whatever screwed up process Adobe used to master the CD for Flash 8 also
has this problem. The files are not readable unless the user knows how
to remount the CD with the correct magical mount options. What's worse
is that Wine simply says "file not found" rather than "access denied"
when asked to

Indeed, that is how I worked around the problem.
The system is running Intrepid. samba, samba-common and libpam-smbpass
are all at version 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.

I've had the same problem with upgrading on a Compaq 7000 from the prior

package to file bugs such as this against. I'm sorry for naively typing

I have also just managed to get my printer-scanner-copier to work since
switching back to 2.6.24-19.
Couple of things I noticed when plugging either of my usb devices in whilst
logged on:
- Running 'lsusb' will hang, and is not killable.
- khubd uses 95% CPU.

Isn't this the same case when the resume and fstab files are wrong? Unless I'm
mistaken, even when you change your RAM to a different partition, (ie. when it
can't find it from resume and fstab), the pulsating bar still shows up, but
then disappears for the (what would have been) sequenti

Yes, I have checked.
Basically, usplash loads fine (pulsating), but the problem occurs when the
system is looking for a 'system resume file'. It cannot find the partition
listed in fstab and resume, therefore cannot check for a 'resume file', and
drops to a terminal.
