When using my laptop's discrete nvidia card Unity works fine, but when
enabling the embedded intel card it fails as reported (Intel HD Graphics
3000 (SandyBridge)).
Interestingly when running glxinfo I just get:
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual or fbconfig
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on
A note on the NM 0.9 support. It's not really a "feature", but a bug
fix, as seen from Ubuntu's pow. We ship NM 0.9 which has broken API,
meaning that Zeitgeist's NM support is currently broken in Oneiric.

filter is selected? That is - listing > 3k apps in a grid? Also I
wouldn't be surprised if fx. Games or Accessories contains > 500 apps.

This looks like the symptoms of a bug we fixed a while back with the FTS
extension where the worker thread could access the sqlite cursor (which
is not thread safe).
Please check if you can still reproduce this with zeitgeist-0.8.2 and
zeitgeist-extension-fts-0.0.13 which should both be in Oneiric
There was a bug in one of the versions Zeitgeist FTS Extension that had
this symptom. Please update to the latest version (zeitgeist-extension-
fts 0.0.13) and check if you still see the issue.

Attaching my .xsession-errors from a failed login attempt.
This happens to me maybe 1/10 times I try to log in. One thing that I've
noticed consistently every time this failure has happened is that there
is a slight glitch already at the moment I hit in lightdm: The
screen flickers to my wallpape

If it is a general thing that g_spawn_*() doesn't work with pkexec then
it suggests that the bug is in glib or pk I think.
Is this not a bug everywhere we launch desktop files? The
g_app_info_launch() family, which is used extensively throughout Unity,
just uses G_SPAWN_SEARCH_PATH, but would also
unity-lens-applications indexes the X-GNOME-Keywords field, so that
seems like a possibility.
Relatedly; I don't think it is a good idea to match in the Categories
field via text searches (even though it's a trivial tweak in u-l-a). The
Categories contains semantic data and not user content (and i
I am not overly keen on using the description from the software center.
As it stands many of the descriptions there are of poor quality to
"normal" users. They seem to be written to other packagers. This can
change of course. (and are those descriptions translated?)

DeeIndex/Analyzer frametwork can do transliteration of diacritics (and
everything else for that matter (ICU FTW!). There is still work to be

I don't think we need anything clever here - the obvious question is:
Why do we run these handlers when not rendering bubbles? NOSD should
just uninstall the timeouts when the queue becomes empty.

Looking at bubble.c it does appear to be the case that timeouts are
removed when the Bubble instances are disposed. So either we only have
a power surge when bubbles are on screen (which is probably not a big
issue then), or the Bubble objects are leaked, keeping the timeouts
going?
