I'm having similar issues, and I dunno how to fix it (the above
suggestions aren't working). I'm on Ubuntu 9.04 as well. It's nothing
to do with the desktop theme.
My problem is a bit quirkier... I had some apps open the other night
("ssh -X" windows) that overlapped the Gnome panel. I had to s

I'm running into the same problem on a fresh install on ubuntu 9.0.4.
It won't accept my input for the qualified domain and prints out the
following to stderr AFAIK:

This will probably cause strange things to happen!
Here are the steps I'
The "sudo dpkg-reconfigure postfix" method of configuring (which I
assume would use the same files) is failing on the "recipient delimiter"
issue, though it is claiming I entered "ok" no matter what I enter.
I tried debugging the perl code, but I'm not familiar with per and
couldn't easily find wh

I'm using official FF nightly builds and nvidia's binary driver on 9600GT, jit
enabled (chrome and content).
LP is very sluggish to render and scroll for about one month.
There are many FF scroll-speed related bugs, but most infamous is lags due to
CSS :fixed positioning.

Same problems with two noname adapters JAE50->SATA on two nVidia motherboards
(Zotac 9300-ITX and Zotac IONTX-A). In my case adapter start working after
forcing transfer mode to mwdma2. (To do this create file
/etc/modprobe.d/libata with flowing content
options libata force=4:noncq,mwdma2 there
Just wanted to add a "me, too" for thumb drives (multiple brands / sizes), but
also to add that I have the same behaviour on a logitech usb microphone, as
well as a logitech usb webcam.
Both will show up if I do "lsusb" after hot-plugging.

I initially tried gconf-editor and that did not work (under lucid lynx).
Using gconftool-2 and restarting finally worked for me. However, this is
still a ridiculous bug.

Unfortunately, I am not able to deny or confirm that this solution works

I suppose this bug isn't hardware-specific.
Ubuntu kernels have CPU load balancing turned on, thus generating many
"rescheduling" interrupts even under idle load.
And if CPU-intensive process is running, load balance ticks goes up to 500 per
second.
