Yes, I believe this is a real bug because it makes PHP5 unuseable for
anything that is related to Webservices. Practically Ubuntu cannot be
used for any PHP5+SOAP development, so it's really important.

I've tried opening available with gedit but apperently it didn't work (even
with root) (it reported that it didn't recognize the encoding in the file).
I managed to solve this by deleting line 2 and 8 from the file and now
everything is back to normal.

I have used the MTU work around in bug #61989 and I am now able to
access the WAP I could not before.
To whom ever may be looking at this bug. Compiling the latest madwifi-ng
from there subversioning trunk will fix this problem.

I had to remove the card from the machine too. I read somewhere (not
sure of the link anymore). That is because of WEP and this card. I
haven't had a chance to see if what happens if I turn off WEP, and I'm
not sure of what would happen if I used WPA. Has anyone tried this?

This is still happening in Feisty. I have worked around this issue by
not using the USB hub that came with my monitor. Others may not have
that option.
