when I upgrade kubuntu 10.04 to 10.10,
ppa:xorg-edgers seems to fix this for me. If anyone else wants to try:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa && sudo apt-get update &&
sudo apt-get upgrade
So newer drivers should fix this problem.

of frustration - the 'cursors' directory under ~/.icons/default and
restarting X
the directory has not been recreated
I'd be interested to hear if that
any idea??

This bug is affecting me as well. But not even as a result of rapidly
changing tabs/pages. It simply happens, even when switching pages
slowly.
Find attached a screenshot. As you can see, I've navigated to Google,
but it still shows Yahoo! in the window title.

I've just tried running Firefox with -safe-mode . This bug is still
occurring, so it can't be an add-on causing the problem.
Should this problem be reported upstream to Mozilla? Unless it's a
problem with the window manager/Compiz. However, Nautilus, for example,
doesn't seem to have this problem.
Also just to confirm this is with:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101027
Ubuntu/10.10 (maverick) Firefox/3.6.12
