- Had an Xubuntu 8.04 instance loaded off the alternate CD and created /boot
and the rest as an encrypted volume. That volume was used for LVM, which
contained all the partitions for my system.
- Upgrade 8.04 to 8.10
- Want to upgrade to 9.04. Decide to do a fresh reloa
I confirm that this is true; for English. If you change the default
language to Chinese (for the user session), everything looks beautiful.
Because I am from a native English speaking background, but often type
in Chinese, this issue is of concern.

Unable to obtain anti
After further research - the device was recognized, and even worked
(somewhat) in cheese. The problem was that the device uses a PJPG
palette that is not recognized by most programs. However, that palette
recognition issue does not relate to this bug. My apologies.

That change constitutes a string change. It's *very* unorthodox to do
such a string change just a few days before final release, in particular
without giving the translators a change to see and translate the new

After upgrading to Jaunty, bug 371454 renders xfce unusable, so I'm back
on intrepid. I'll have to spin up a VM specifically to test this, and it

I hit the same problem. I had to add resume=/dev/sda2 to the defoptions
line in /boot/grub/menu.lst (and run update-grub.) My
/etc/uswsusp.conf already had "resume device = /dev/sda2", but that
wasn't good enough (could hibernate, but like the OP it wouldn't even
try to resume.)

This bug was caused by you interrupting the upgrade while it was taking
place.
In the terminal log you can see this:
"^Cdpkg: errore processando ubuntu-docs (--configure):"
It looks like you pressed Ctrl + C during the upgrade, which would
interrupt it. Performing the upgrade again should solve

I'm informed that the scrollkeeper package is installed in UNR rather
than rarian-compat.
This has led to quite a few crasher bugs as scrollkeeper (which is evil)
bails out on ubuntu-docs upgrades.

I can confirm that this is the culprit in Jaunty as well. I fixed it by
replacing the icon, but this is just a workaround.

I also confirm bug and fix. The bug is introduced in the
python2.5_2.5.4-1ubuntu4.diff patchset for the python2.4 package; it
appears to be doing an incomplete backport of the 2.6 code.
