I did
sudo apt-get remove --purge flashplugin-nonfree
and then removed .mozilla in my home folder.
when I open about:plugins I don't see the flash plugin.
I would like to note that www.grails.org doesn't need the flash plugin.
Problem persists.

I'm attaching the fonts installed on my system.. I don't know if that is
what you wanted.
I'm using ubuntu intrepid firefox's default configuration as I have
removed my .mozilla folder and I haven't changed anything since. I also
didn't install any plugins nor extensions.
Firefox default font : s
Using the nv driver solved the problem :).
Seems to be a bug with the nvidia propietary drivers I was using version 177.
I'm changing the package to nvidia-graphics-drivers-177 .
