It still hangs a lot... I suppose nothing changed. Actually I just modified the
number of seconds of that timeout (from 60 to 5) in /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf
but without uncommenting the corresponding line (I didn't realize there was a
'#' precedeing the corresponding line...)

It hangs on boot while:
- pressing F1 I can see: Kinit: No resume image, doing normal boot
- pressing F7 I can see:

I still have this problem. I've been trying with Ubuntu 8.04 and Xubuntu 8.10
I've been trying using at the same time
noacpi
nolapci
nosplash
and also with only 'noacpi'. Hope I should not try all of the possble
combinations of kernel parameters...

I don't know what download status bar extension are you referring to. I
disabled no extension, I just disabled desktop effects (I'm in Ubuntu)
and that was the workaround! Both Firefox and Konqueror windows
decoration appear without problems (enabling desktop effects will cause

The problem on smsconsumatori is not present anymore. On the other hand I still
have the same problem on the other web site.
Just a little note: I'm trying this on Windows XP while those screenshots refer

Try to reproduce videos with firefox 2.0.0.2. Installing missing plugins
and than crashing in opening a page with videos.
Crached with www.tg5.mediaset.it when clicking to open a video on the
left side of that page.

I have discovered that the Ubuntu One Preferences window freezes when I have no
wifi/network connection.
I have repeated several times and is always the same, if connection no problem
if no connection window freezes.
I dont know if it is exactly the same problem as mine, but I think it is
better

libpulse-java.so and pulse-java.jar is enough, even if I don't modify

I upgraded to karmic a couple of days ago, since Synaptic announced that
it was possible to upgrade to 9.10
My system is unusable because of this bug.
1) What's the actual situation about this bug?

Just used usb-creator-gtk to host an Ubuntu 9.10 live iso
My problem is that, once the iso image has been loaded, after unplugging the
usb stick it doesn't work anymore.

and it sounds (as long as no other application is using the sound card)

Same issues here with ACER Aspire 5730z, Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop and kernel
2.6.31-19-generic installed.
It also happens with EeePC 4GB, Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop installed.
A good workaround could be the "do nothing" choice for the "When battery
power is critically low" option.

the computer will Suspend, Hybernate or Turn OFF.
