I have this problem too (I can confirm that the problem only seems to
appear when you use an Exchange account), and agree with Matthias.
Having to force-close the exchange plugin several times a day is simply
not a good way to work, though it's an effective way to work *around*

I force-shutdown evolution and noticed something else that was strange:
when I restarted evolution through Empathy, nothing would happen for
about five to ten minutes, and then my inbox would open up. Has anybody
else noticed this odd behaviour?

I can confirm that starting the computer in Windows / other OS and
enabling BT there reactivates BT on Ubuntu as well. Weird, but true.
