the opposite direction. Upon bootup and for several hours thereafter,
scaling works correctly. But after a period of time something happens
(which is of course not mentioned in any log) and scaling_max_freq is

Nautilus gets stuck in infi
Continues to occur on latest packages. I also have the GNOME 3 Team PPA
installed but this was occurring for me before I installed as well.

I think you're onto something Paul with the UPnP support. ltrace output
gives me similar indications it is involved, however I have other
clients on the network that need UPnP. This is a standard Verizon FIOS
router. I am not using UPnP for port forwarding of VNC however (that's
a static rule).

take a look at /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log and see if the crash matches the
bug above, that's what's happening to me

It looks like you made some code changes to fix, but I did try the
upgrade again and fails the same way:

Actually - I just removed libts0 - which wanted to uninstall a few apps
that I made note of to reinstall later - and then I was able to upgrade
to 24.04.

This only affects X11, and gnome devs only care about Wayland
(specifically, their implementation of Wayland), so I doubt they're
gonna fix this, even though I'd like them to!
