10. My system can find my phone, another computer in my house etc but
my phone & the other computer cannot find my ubuntu system. Even though
the system BT is set up to transmit all the time.

I recently upgraded to Lucid.
As in Karmic, the bluetooth manager functioned intermittently so I tried
un-installing the bluetooth stack an bluetooth manager.
I restarted my system, all is working as it should. WiFi internet access
working well etc.
I re-installed the Bluez

system at boot.
Had to roll back to 3.2 kernel and remove the 3.4 kernel via synaptic manager.
On reboot to 3.2, kindle mounted as expected - not sure what was happening but
appears to be fixed now.

I have a Kindle Fire which is not recognised in new distro at all. USB
connection is good for charging only. The Fire was connecting to my
laptop without issues in 11.04 & 11.10. My regular Kindle is connecting
as expected and is now automatically opening media software which id did
not before.

Confirm this link works in VLC

Rhythmbox. The error box after using the work-around (sudo killall
gvfsd-http) indicates that the stream is bbeing recognized as text.
