verified to be fixed in the Ubuntu-3.0.0-13.
Also you should make sure that you have put your SATA at IDE or compatible
mode and not at AHCI mode in BIOS setting before doing the test.

Could you make sure that it is 3.0.0-11-generic which starts to make

I don't think there are ways to avoid the problem if you have to enable runtime
pm for usb input devices(kb, mouse).
Generally speaking, the first key you pressed is used to wakeup the usb keyboard
and the key is dropped by keyboard, then the driver can report the
subsequent keys
you pressed to in
Except for your E620 USB Modem, all other usb devices(usb hub, uvc camera)
in your machine have been enabled runtime suspend at default.
So it should be your modem which caused the extra power consumption.

Hi,
Now the default interface is eth0, instead of usb0, you may need to check the
output of 'ifconfig -a'. If still no any interfaces shown, please post
the following
output:
dmesg
lsmod
lsusb -v

I've now installed the proprietary fglrx driver, reinstated the
"vt.handoff=7" in /etc/grub.d/10_linux and then did a "Sudo update-
grub".
Upon booting with the current Ubuntu 3.5.0-17-28 kernel, I didn't have a
black screen anymore. Other than that, there's next to none difference
between booting
I've now installed the proprietary fglrx-updates (version 2:9.000-0ubuntu3)
from the Quantal repositories.
Just like Francisco T., I can now access the Settings dialog without problems.
