It seems that an upgrade to 12.10 worked for me, because it has the new kernel 3.5. I'm still testing it and found a few bugs (audio is buggy and skype crashes a lot) but I doubt they are related. I also checked my Arch Linux kernel and it was also running 3.5 so perhaps the kernel can be in some
